Newsman: New Yorkers seeing more gun violence as concerns in recent days. On Tuesday police reported two separate incidents in New York City. Two teens were shot inside the park.
At least 23 shots were fired, in a mad burst of violence with children nearby where four innocent bystanders, including two teenagers, were shot inside of a park in Queens Tuesday evening.
A 15-year-old girl was shot in the leg and a 16-year-old boy was shot in the back of the four victims, police say. Both were taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in stable condition.
A 20-year-old man was shot twice in the leg and a 32-year-old man was shot in the leg. They were both taken to Jamaica in stable condition. All the victims are expected to survive.
Police say none of the victims appeared to be the intended targets.
Police looked at surveillance camera video to see if they could find the car that carried the men into the park, but no arrests have been made yet.
They say the park is a known gang hangout and they believe this was gang related.
Police say all four victims were shot inside London Planet Tree Skate Park located at Atlantic Avenue and 88th Street in Ozone Park where the two gunmen entered the park and looked around and started firing.
In another incidence A man and a woman were shot in the legs in Harlem on Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting was reported in front of 215 West 125th Street just before 3 p.m. Police say a 20-year-old man was in a dispute with another man, who opened fire on him.
He was shot twice in the left leg and taken to St Luke’s Hospital.
A 48-year -old woman, who preliminarily does not appear involved in the dispute, was shot once in the left leg. She was taken to Harlem Hospital.
Both victims were said to be stable.
