Newsman: Four people were shot and one died outside of a market in Elmhurst, Queens on Sunday. The fatal victim, a 28-year-old was shot multiple times throughout the body and was pronounced dead at the scene man according to the NYPD,.
The other three victims are expected to survive. The gunman reportedly fled on a moped.
The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. in front of 95-23 41st Ave which is a busy area outside a corner market in Elmhurst. Police closed the entire area as roped off for investigation.
Police Commissioner Sewell arrived on the scene late Sunday afternoon. Investigators say the victims were believed to be targeted and the shooting was most likely gang-related.
There was a packed street fair just a few blocks away from the shooting. People were in festive mood in the neighborhood .But the holiday turned to a violent day.
