“Historic 7th March Speech of Bangabandhu…” in six UN official languages

Newsman: First time ever a book on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman have published in UN’s all official languages-English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian and Chinese. “The Historic 7th March Speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman: A World Documentary Heritage,” was unveiled at UNESCO headquarters yesterday.

The Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to UNESCO has published the book on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s March 7 speech that ultimately led him as the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh.

The book was jointly unveil by Ambassadors and permanent representatives at the organization from Australia, England, France, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Spain, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Mauritania, Kuwait, Russia, China and Bangladesh. Underscoring the importance of the publication they said, the publication will play very important role to the history of world heritage. Speakers highlighted the unparallel leadership of Bangabandhu Mujibur Rahman to liberate the country.

The opening ceremony was publicized online from the UNESCO headquarter through Permanent Mission of Bangladesh’s social media due to covid-19 pandemic situation.  

Bangladesh Ambassador to Paris and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UNESCO Kazi Imtiaz paid homage to the memory of Bangabandhu Mujibur Rahman in his welcome speech.

“The March 7 speech was the inspiration for the nine-month long liberation war of Bangladesh” Ambassador Imtiaz said. 

Ambassador Imtiaz thanked ambassadors and permanent representatives of all the countries who participated in the event.

The UN’s educational, scientific and cultural agency, UNESCO, included The Historic 7th March Speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the Memory of the World International Register, a list of world’s important documentary heritage, in 2017.

The book contains special statements of Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Education Minister Dipu Moni.
