Biden will sign dozens of executive orders

Newsman: President-elect Joe Biden will sign dozens of executive orders in the first 10 days in office. Rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, reverse the Muslim travel ban, extend the existing pause on student loan payments and an extension to nationwide restrictions on evictions and foreclosures due to the pandemic will be in priorities. Biden’ white house chief of staff Ron Klain Outlined the incoming Biden administration’s priorities in a memo on Saturday.

“President-elect Biden will demonstrate that America is back and take action to restore America’s place in the world,” Klain also wrote in the memo. 

The white house’s incoming Chief of staff Ron Klain said  “President-elect Biden will take action- not just to reverse the gravest damages of the Trump administration – but also to start moving our country forward.” 

The President elect Biden is also expected to send a major new immigration bill to Congress as well as focusing on passing a $1.9tn stimulus plan to help the country’s economy recover from coronavirus

The executive orders are just one part of his ambitious plan for his first 10 days in office, according the memo.

Mr. Biden will also launch the “100 Day Masking Challenge.” 

The memo said, on January 21, Mr. Biden will sign executive action aimed at addressing COVID-19 and reopening schools. On January 22, he will direct his Cabinet agencies to address economic relief.

Klain listed a number of less specific execution actions Mr. Biden plans to address from January 25-February 1.
