Newsman: The ‘United Hindus of USA’ demands justice against attacks on Hindu community back in Bangladesh. Speaking at a rally, expatriates Bangladeshi American Hindu community leaders said, The Hindu community is not feeling safe in current situation in Bangladesh.
“We want to live in peace and religious harmony ensured by a secular society, but the minority community in Bangladesh always becomes the victim of political dilemma in Bangladesh” they said. Temples are vandalized and torched, assaulting Hindus including abducting young girls has terrorized the Hindu community in recent days especially after the fall of the Shekh Hasina government forced by students led protest on Quota system they added.
Hundreds of Bangladeshi American Hindu expatriates joined the rally at the Union Squire Park in Manhattan, New York on Sunday. They urge to the current interim government Bangladesh to hold criminals accountable and serve justice against brutal attacks on minority communities in Bangladesh after the fall of the Shekh Hasina government on August’5th, 2024. Expatriates Bangladeshi American Hindu community urge to the current interim government to protect the Hindus and minority communities, ensure their safety and security.
‘Hindus want to live freely in religious harmony in Bangladesh,’ Ramdash Gharami, one of the organizers and the General Secretary of the organization ‘United Hindus of USA’ told reporters. Bangladesh was born against all kind of exploitation and discrimination through a bloody liberation war in 1971. The constitution of the country guarantees the safety, security and religious freedom for all. But the experience and the reality is contradictory to the constitution, he added.
