Three armed robbers targeted a cell phone store near Roosevelt Avenue and got away with $15,000 in cash and approximately hundred cell phone and electronic watches. Store owner said, robbers plainly cleared the shelves and display cases of merchandise.
The alleged three-man crew who robbed the cell phone store at gunpoint before driving off in a gray SUV with no license plates Police said.
A 40-year-old man was working behind the counter of the ‘ United Wireless’ store located at 37-56 74th street on Saturday, march 30th, when three strangers walked in at around 8:30 p.m. and displayed a firearm before tying up the employee, according to police.
The robbers forcibly removed $15,000 from the cash register and neat about 100 cell phones and electronic watches. Then after robbing the store, three culprits ran out of the shop and fled in a gray SUV. The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to Elmhurst hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Police are looking for alleged robbers wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a dark baseball cap and a black face covering. But the one among them wore eyeglasses.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to their arrest.
According to the most recent crime report, the 115th precinct reported 96 robberies so far in 2024, while writing this report and more than the 66 reported robbery reports at the same area last year. The increase of 45.5% has created panics in Jackson heights business community.
