Newsman: Two firefighters and a civilian were injured during a fire in a Jackson Heights apartment building on May 31.The Apartment building is located in a busy market place where many 24/7 ,groceries and Restaurants are open.
The FDNY received a 911 call just before 7:30 a.m. on May 31 reporting a fire on the top floor of a six-story residential building at 37-10 76th St.
By the time firefighters made it to the sixth floor they found the flames had extended into the cockloft. A second alarm was transmitted bringing a total of 46 units with 141 firefighters and EMS personnel to the scene between 37th Road and 37th.
The fire was brought under control just before 8:45 a.m. EMS transported two firefights and one civilian to Elmhurst Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition with minor injuries.
