Newsman: Heavy fire was found on the 1st floor extended to the ceiling of the 2nd and 3rd floors of an apartment building in Manhattan. Late Wednesday night into early this morning, a 3rd alarm fire took place at a Laundromat with 2 floors of apartments above on 16th street off 6th Avenue.
FDNY responded to a 3-alarm fire at 105 West 16th Street in Manhattan. More than 150 firefighters and EMS personnel responded. Three firefighters were treated for minor injuries.
“Units investigating found fire in the walls spreading between the first, second and third floor. There was an earlier fire in the building earlier Wednesday afternoon. At this time, we’re not sure if the two fires are connected,” said Deputy Assistant Chief Paul Miller.
The fire was placed under control around 1:30 Thursday morning.
FDNY Fire Marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.
