Nations around the world welcomed the year 2021 hoping to end the pandemic and be prepare to prevent the unknown threats against mankind in the future. Free from fears and win against all the negatives. Hope the lesson 2020 is the last to learn and lead to the light stride with realization of new reality.
The world entered to the new era of an ambitious exploration. Leading science and artificial intelligence to integrate in life, conquering planet March and life beyond, while the most important t tasks are overdue for the very existence of the planet. Today, Diseases like Coronaviurs, hunger, inequality, social injustice, climate change and ecological imbalance threatening life on earth. Power and politics, muscles and money, the ruthless unjust overshadowed the humanity but yet the life is beautiful in hope.
The rules on the earth may have settled the source of hope to energy in life. Thus the life indeed is; moving on hope.
The iconic New Year’s Eve ball dropped at New York’s Times Square was different this year. The event, traditionally, has attracted thousands of people from round the world since last 116 years, who line the streets and hug, kiss and cheer when the ball touches the ground.
But the celebration’ looked completely different as distinct lack of fanfare. Time squire was completely shut down for tourists or public entrance. Only a handful of invited guests were allowed to witness the event in the police cordoned area. Organizers recognized the “heroes of 2020,” the front line workers, first responders and their families. Stars performed as usual at the televised event.
President Donald Trump, in his New Year’s Eve message earlier in the day said, “Americans showed incredible grit” in 2020.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blazio pressed the electric button to drop the New Year’s Eve ball.
This year’s Ball was made of 32,256 lights in 2,688 crystal pieces and weighted 11,875 pound. The event was television network.
Singer-songwriter Andra Day performed her Grammy Award-nominated single “Rise Up,” as well as her song “Forever Mine on live commercial-free webcast and TV pool feed. New Year’s Eve tradition of singing John Lennon’s “Imagine” was sang just before the Ball Drop Celebration when the world unites to countdown the final seconds to the New Year.
Two-time Grammy winner and global music legend Gloria Gaynor performed her global anthem of encouragement and inspiration, “I Will Survive,” along with, “Joy Comes In The Morning” and her hit song, “Never Can Say Goodbye.”
In addition to Andra Day and Gloria Gaynor, the live webcast included musical performances by Anitta, Pitbull, the USO Show Troupe, and The Waffle Crew.
Actor & TV personality Jonathan Bennett returned as Times Square New Year’s Eve Host. Time squire’s New Year’s Eve event started at 6 pm in the evening and ended 12:15 in the New Year’s Day.
The festivities toned down as millions stay at home due to COVID, but the New Year still carries high hopes. Everyone said goodbye and good riddance to 2020.
